Wife and mother beater shot by vigilante

In the Bronx .... David Williams, 22, had ten arrests under his belt for beating his mother and girlfriend – mother of his child – when he was shot in the face by a vigilante who intervened when Williams was beating his girlfriend yet again. Witnesses say Williams was beating his 19-year-old girlfriend when a man intervened and told him to stop. Williams told the guy to mind his own business. At that point, the man pulled out a gun and shot Williams in the face and fled.

Williams was rushed to Lincoln Hospital where he died. Hey, sometimes the bad do die young. Let's hope the police aren't looking too hard for the vigilante. If only Charles Bronson was still around ...

Couple uses same recycled Valentine's Day card for 70 years

Happy Valentine's Day and All My Love to My De...Image by faith goble via Flickr
There's no chance of 88-year-old Harry Ward of forgetting to pick up a Valentine Day card for his 87-year-old wife Doris this year. He's been using the same card he bought here every year since he splurged on it 70 years ago.

"I bring it out of the cupboard and put it on our mantlepiece every Valentine's Day," Doris said. "It's a special to me now as it was 70-years-ago. Harry has never bought me one since, because I have this one every year."

The card reads, "Two hearts entwine this Valentine. True love makes it sincere". The couple married in 1942.

Man killed over text spelling mistake

A man in Britain was stabbed to death after he confronted his former friend with a knife, only to have the table turned on him. Neil Brook,33, was accused of murdering his friend and neighbour, 27- year-old Josef Witkowski. All this over a mis-spelled text message -– thanks to predictive spelling. Brook told the police he sent Mr Witkowski a text containing the word “nutter”, but, because of predictive text, it came out as “mutter”.

Witkowski then went to Brook’s apartment and attacked Brook with a knife. Brook grabbed his own knife and stabbed Witkowski, stabbing him in the heart. Witkowski had 104 injuries including cuts, stab wounds, bruises and slice marks on his hands.

Brook has been found guilty of manslaughter. All this over a spelling mistake.
