400-pound, 5 foot 2 inch Jerrie Perkins was arrested in her motorized cart in Pontiac, Michigan when her the cart became stuck at the store entrance. Police say Perkins, 30, was attempting to leave a Meijer store with over $600 worth of electronic equipment unpaid for. According to police, when a security agent from the store confronted her, Perkins shoved her and hit her in the face.
When a sheriff's deputy arrived on the scene, Perkins maintained her confrontational style and cursed. When the deputy pulled out a Taser, Perkins brought her fist over her head.
The deputy Tasered Perkins, who was then compliant. Perkins is charged with unarmed robbery, resisting and obstructing a police officer and second-degree retail fraud. No word on the fate of the motorized cart.
