Sony apologizes for Japanese band Kishidan's Nazi outfits
Sony Music and MTV have both apologized for the appearance of Japanese band Kishidan on prime time television wearing Nazi uniforms. The band appeared in uniforms resembling those of the Nazi SS during an interview on MTV Japan's Mega Vector program.
The Simon Wiesenthal Centre expressed "shock and dismay" and urged them to apologise to its fans and the victims of Nazism.
"There is no excuse for such an outrage", said rabbi Abraham Cooper, the centre's associate dean, in a written protest to the band's management company Sony Music Artists, MTV Japan and the Japanese entertainment group Avex.
